A USB drive sends and receives more information than you think, when you plug it into your computer. If you are an advanced user and you wish to monitor the activity of one or more USB devices, USBlyzer will help you. The software can retrieve and analyze a wide range of data regarding USB device activity and it allows you to save it for later use.

The installation package is roughly 3.80 MB, which should take only a few moments to download, regardless of your Internet connection's speed. The software can be installed just as fast, without any difficulties. It works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7, as well as various server editions.

You can perform almost any action and view any information on the main interface. It consists of four docked windows, which can be resized and moved. USB devices are displayed in a tree structure. Besides removable storage devices, you can also explore host controllers and hubs. You can select one or more devices, by clicking their check boxes and hit a start button, located on a toolbar, to start capturing their sent and received data.

The received information is displayed, in real time, in a table of contents, next to the tree structure. Each entry contains numerous details, including raw data, request details and more. Additional details are displayed on separate tabs, beneath the table of contents, for the selected entries. You can view a summary, raw hex dump, IRPs, URBs and an overall analysis.

USBlyzer can be set to capture specific types of details and it allows you to filter the retrieved information. You can save the captured data in the program's native format, for later use. It is also possible to export the device list, in HTML, XML, CSV or TXT format.

Pros

The software captures a wide range of USB activity data and it translates it in a readable form. It can retrieve data from USB storage devices, host controllers and hubs. The interface is well organized and you can change its layout.

Cons

There are no serious issues to mention. USBlyzer provides you with any information you need, about the activity of your USB devices and it translates it into a form that is easy to understand.
